Hair Tips for Girls on the Go!

  • Posted by Keratherapy September 6, 2012
  • We know how hard you work to make everything perfect and how little time you have for yourself – follow one of these great tips to make your hair look effortlessly beautiful.

For gorgeous loose waves, the good news is you don’t have to invest much time. Braid damp hair before bed and you’ll wake up with beach-worthy waves. To avoid hair getting frizzy, spray Keratherapy Leave-in Conditioner Spray and make sure your hair is braided tightly. Extra hair tip: For larger curly waves, pin multiple small buns with bobby pins instead of braiding damp hair. The buns will create sexy loose waves with body that will last all day.

Before doing your makeup in the morning, take a few minutes to put some rollers in. By the time you’re done getting ready, your hair will be set too. Unroll the curlers, loosen the curls with your fingers and finish the look with Keratherapy Argan Oil. Pump a few drops into your hands and run them from roots to ends, instantly reducing frizz and adding a boost of shine.

Don’t have time to blow dry? Let your hair air-dry instead. Be sure to prep hair in the shower with Keratherapy Deep Conditioner to soften and hydrate your hair. Spray our Leave-in Conditioner Spray and a few drops of Argan Oil and let it dry. Bonus: your hair will dry naturally, which will leave it much stronger than using a blow dryer.

If you have a few extra minutes and really want to glam up your everyday look in a hurry, use the Keratherapy Titanium Flat Iron to flat iron your hair. How to get perfectly straight hair you ask? Always use Keratherapy Daily Smoothing Cream prior to blow drying, then finish your sleek look with the flat iron. Make sure you use the correct heat setting so it gets the job done in less time.

    Holiday Hair: Low Messy Chignons

  • Posted by Keratherapy December 14, 2011
  • Another great holiday look is a chignon. A chignon looks best when it is off to one side and is full and messy.

    To create this look:

Part your hair in the desired way.
You can leave shorter face framing pieces forward.
Gather the rest of your hair back and to the side
For more height gather the hair off center at ear height.
For less height gather the hair off center and further towards the nape of your neck.
Secure your hair with a pony tail.

Take small sections of the pony tail and wrap and twist them towards the ponytail base.
Secure each section with hair pins.
Criss-cross the pins to secure the hair.

When you have twisted and secured all of the ponytail into a messy, unfinished looking bun you can loosely pull on some of the hairs to create a messier look.

Spray with hairspray to hold the hairs in place.
Curl or twist the shorter face framing hairs that you left out.
Style your bangs and your chignon is complete.

Accessorize this look with glamorous earrings and bold lipstick and your look is holiday ready.

    Holiday Hair: Loose Waves

As we know, holiday hair is all about working with your outfit. For those bold statement outfits we kept the hair simple and classic with ponytails in the previous post. If your outfit is not such a show stopper you will still be a head turner with the right holiday hair- loose waves are the way to go.

    Full Glamour Loose Waves:

Curl the hair with a wide barrel curling iron; minimum of 1 1/2″. The larger the barrel size the wider and looser the curls will be. Begin curling at the nape of the neck and continue up throughout the hair curling 1/2″ sections. Keep the curling iron in a horizontal position to avoid a spiral look after curling. When the entire head it complete take a vent brush and slowly brush down the hair, do not re-brush the same section more than once. Move the brush slightly left and right to follow the pattern of the wave. Finish with a medium hold hairspray for long lasting glamorous loose waves.

    Full Loose Waves:

Curl the hair in the same way as the full glamour waves above. When brushing the curls use a boar bristle brush to break and soften the curls more thoroughly and create a less perfected look. Finish with a light hold spray to allow for movement of these soft, full and loose waves.

    Sleek Loose Waves:

Curl the hair in the same way as the last two methods; however you may use a narrower curling iron barrel. After curling the hair use a wide tooth comb to loosen the waves, comb the hair straight down, not bringing the hair away from the head to minimize extra volume. Allow the waves to drop and settle for a few minutes before spraying with light hold hairspray.

Create these loose waved looks to contrast any simple or classic holiday outfit.
